Terp Toolkit: Finding Office Space for Your Startup

Terp Toolkit highlights resources for starting your business.

Shared office spaces are popular among start-ups and an excellent way to find workspace without breaking the bank. Co-working spaces also often provide perks and resources beyond a desk, including: internet, conference space, area discounts, access to a network of business people and investors, kitchens, and even free snacks and coffee.

Startup-OfficeA few options to check out include:

If you can afford to rent an office on a more permanent basis or are looking to house a large team, check out Regus, an office rental company with thousands of locations worldwide.

Another great option for student entrepreneurs is UMD’s incubator, Terp Startup. Terp Startup is the third and final stage of the Dingman Center’s Fearless Founders program for students with startup ideas and aspirations.

The Terp Startup incubator helps student entrepreneurs make substantial progress on their product or service; secure or increase initial customers and partners; and empowers them to have the ability to make the big “go/no-go” decision based on metrics and market indicators.

Five entrepreneurs were recently admitted to the 2015 Terp Startup Summer Incubator. In addition to the full access to the resources at the Dingman Center, selected students will receive a stipend of up to $3,000 for their business and general cost of living and are eligible for a $2,000 stipend for on-campus housing expenses.

Stay tuned for our next Terp Toolkit, which will cover marketing your startup.

Coworking spaces are indeed creating a lot of space for the new startups to emerge. Few of service providers in the market are leveraging the providing the best service. I have had a best experience in the field of the coworking space with the The Executive Centre.
